What is GST?

Goods and Service Tax (GST) is a current scheme followed in the Indian subcontinent. It was implemented on July 1, 2017. As part of ‘one nation, one tax’ motto, this development was made as an indirect form of taxation. This has not only reduced the number of taxes that were levied on the central and state level, thereby reducing the obligation of taxpayers.

The major issue with the earlier system was the profound cascading effect since the system was multi-layered. With the adoption of this new system, the possibility of any mishaps has been almost eliminated.

Online GST Taxation

One remarkable feature of GST is that it’s completely online. Under the ‘Digital India’ scheme, the procedure which includes GST registration, GSTIN registration, new GST registration, calculating GST, or paying GST has been moved to the online medium.

Once you’re a registered GST payer online, it’s easy for you to pay the levied tax.

However, if you are a resident of Rajasthan and fall under individual/business taxation of the state, then you must as well consider the singularities of the guidelines there.

Rajasthan Goods and Service Tax is a subdivision of the central taxation reform. This is done in order to simplify the process for the people hailing from the state of Rajasthan. The process of Rajasthan GST is carried out via an online portal reserved for the state. Herein, when you register yourself, you can efficiently and quickly process the tax.

Rajasthan became the third state after Telangana and Bihar to adopt the system in 2017. The bill in the Rajasthan assembly was passed by voice vote.

Rajasthan GST website includes the following features-

·         GST registration, including new registrations.

·         GST calculation.

Central GST Commissionerate Jaipur

Central Goods and Services Commissionerates Jaipur is one of the four executive commissioners. It functions under the jurisdiction of the office of the Chief Commissioner (Jaipur zone). It is headed by the Principal Commissioner.

The geographical area of the Jaipur district, Ajmer, and the state of Rajasthan falls under the Commissionerate Jaipur.

Since it’s a considerably larger geographical area, the Commissionerate Jaipur is further divided into 11 Central Goods and Services Tax Divisions. Nine out of 11 are in Jaipur, and two are in Ajmer. All of these fall under the leadership of assistant/deputy commissioner.

For revenue and administrative convenience, these 11 divisions are further subdivided into 54 ranges. These are headed by the superintendent.

How to conduct GST Registration Online?

Here is a rundown of how you can register on the GST portal.

·         Firstly, pay the recommended GST while making a transaction to any seller.

·         Secondly, if you fall under the Special Economic Zone or are a Special Economic Zone developer, then you’ll have to register separately. Your registration will be made as a business vertical distinct. This must be made through his units situated outside the Special Economic Zone.

·         Important documents that you have to attest to in this application are PAN card details, contact number, and e-mail address.

·         Finally, you’ll have to fill forms GST 1 and GST 2. These are thereafter forwarded to authorities for cross-checking and verification.

*Note: The number and email address that you provide will also be used for sending notifications.

Verification of GSTIN

GST registration is a mandatory step for any business, irrespective of the distinguishing features. However, many businesses tend to use false GST numbers in order to skip the scrutinising process by the government.

The falsification of GST numbers not only put the business owners in danger, but it also traps the associates. This implies that if you associate with any such business, you’ll lose out on the Input Tax Credit (ITC). This will put you in a difficult situation wherein you have to pay additional tax irrespective of not being at fault yourself.

Every document ranging from GST details to the GST bill, will not lack in the appearance of authenticity. This is done to deceive people.

To avoid such mishaps, you must opt for the GSTIN verification. This can be done via GSTIN registration number. Through this, you’ll know whether a business/vendor is authentic or fraud.
