As of 2026, the biggest manufacturing companies in Delhi NCR are Maruti Suzuki, Hero MotoCorp, Eicher Motors, Apollo Tyres, JK Tyre, Havells, Dabur, BHEL and Indian Oil, all headquartered in Delhi, Gurugram, Noida or Ghaziabad. Most of their factories sit in Haryana and UP towns around the capital; Delhi city itself is mainly head offices and MSME clusters like Bawana.
Why is Delhi NCR a manufacturing hub, and what counts as "Delhi" here?
"Delhi" in any serious manufacturing list means the National Capital Region: Delhi plus Gurugram, Manesar, Faridabad and Sonipat/Kundli in Haryana, and Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. Search for a Maruti or Havells factory inside Delhi's municipal limits and you will not find one. The big plants are in Gurugram, Manesar, Kharkhoda (Sonipat), Dharuhera, Faridabad, Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad. Delhi city hosts the corporate offices, the PSU headquarters and thousands of small units in notified industrial areas.
The sector mix is broad. Cars and two-wheelers dominate the Haryana side. Electricals, LED lighting and mobile-phone assembly cluster around Noida. FMCG and Ayurvedic products come out of Ghaziabad. Defence electronics has a Ghaziabad unit too. Apparel, auto components and general engineering fill the MSME estates.
Context for the numbers below: manufacturing was about 15% of India's gross value added in FY2025-26 on the new 2022-23 base series (14.8% precisely, per MoSPI figures cited in the Lok Sabha in August 2026), and manufacturing GVA grew 10.7% in FY26. The older 16.9% figure you may see elsewhere comes from the discontinued 2011-12 series. The National Manufacturing Mission target, per the Economic Survey 2025-26, is 25% of GDP by 2035.
Which are the biggest manufacturing companies headquartered in Delhi NCR?
Nine large manufacturers have their corporate headquarters in Delhi NCR as of 2026, and two of them (BHEL and Indian Oil) are Maharatna central PSUs. Here is the roster before any narrative.
| Company | Sector | HQ (2026) | Founded | Manufacturing in NCR? | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Maruti Suzuki | Passenger cars | New Delhi | Suzuki holds ~56% | Yes: Gurugram, Manesar, Kharkhoda (Sonipat) | Listed, Suzuki subsidiary |
| Hero MotoCorp | Two-wheelers | New Delhi (Vasant Kunj) | 1984 | Yes: Dharuhera, Gurugram | Listed, private |
| Eicher Motors | Motorcycles (Royal Enfield), CVs via VECV | New Delhi | 1982 (group roots 1948) | No: Royal Enfield plants are near Chennai | Listed, private |
| Apollo Tyres | Tyres | Gurugram (registered office Kochi) | 1972 | No: 5 Indian plants are in AP, TN, Kerala, Gujarat | Listed, private |
| JK Tyre | Tyres | New Delhi | Group founded 1918 | Not in NCR; 11 plants globally incl. Mexico | Listed, private |
| Havells | Electricals, appliances | Noida (registered office Connaught Place) | - | Yes: Noida, Faridabad | Listed, private |
| Dabur | FMCG, Ayurvedic healthcare | Ghaziabad corporate office; registered office New Delhi | 1884 | Yes: Ghaziabad-centred network, 13 plants in India | Listed, private |
| BHEL | Heavy electricals, power equipment | New Delhi (Siri Fort) | - | No: 16 units, none in Delhi | Maharatna PSU |
| Indian Oil (IOCL) | Refining, petrochemicals | New Delhi (registered office Mumbai) | 1964 (roots 1959) | Nearest refinery: Panipat | Maharatna PSU |
Two names that confuse people. BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electricals) is the Delhi-headquartered PSU under the Ministry of Heavy Industries, a Maharatna with 16 manufacturing units spread across India. BEL (Bharat Electronics) is a different company: a Navratna defence-electronics PSU under the Ministry of Defence, headquartered in Bengaluru. BEL still belongs on an NCR list, but only for its Ghaziabad unit, not as a Delhi HQ.
NTPC also has a Delhi head office and often turns up in these lists. It generates power; it does not manufacture anything. We have left it out.
BHEL and Indian Oil in numbers
BHEL reported revenue of about Rs 33,782 crore and profit after tax of about Rs 1,600 crore for FY2025-26, per its annual report published in July 2026, on the back of a record FY25 order inflow of Rs 92,535 crore. Indian Oil runs nine refineries of its own (Barauni, Bongaigaon, Digboi, Guwahati, Haldia, Koyali, Mathura, Panipat, Paradip) plus two through subsidiary CPCL, for a consolidated refining capacity of roughly 80.55 million tonnes a year as of 2026. For NCR readers, Panipat is the one that matters: it is the refinery-cum-petrochemical complex closest to the capital.
Which automobile and auto-component manufacturers are in Delhi NCR?
Maruti Suzuki is the anchor of NCR's auto industry, and its biggest change since 2021 is a third Haryana plant at Kharkhoda in Sonipat district, which started production on 25 February 2025. As of 2026 it remains India's largest passenger-vehicle maker with roughly 40% market share (the company has said it wants to get back to 50%), and Suzuki Motor Corporation holds about 56% of it.
The Haryana footprint, per Suzuki's February 2025 release and Autocar India:
| Maruti Suzuki site | District | Capacity (approx.) | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gurugram | Gurugram | 0.7 million/yr | Oldest plant |
| Manesar | Gurugram | 0.9 million/yr | |
| Kharkhoda | Sonipat | 250,000 at launch; 500,000 after second line; planned 1 million | Production began 25 Feb 2025 |
| Rohtak | Rohtak | R&D centre | Not a vehicle plant |
Add Suzuki Motor Gujarat at Hansalpur (750,000 a year) and total capacity is about 2.6 million units, with a stated target of 4 million by 2030-31.
Hero MotoCorp, founded on 19 January 1984 by Brijmohan Lall Munjal, now lists New Delhi (Vasant Kunj) as its headquarters; the Gurugram address people remember is a factory. Its NCR plants are Dharuhera and Gurugram, with others at Haridwar, Neemrana, Halol and Chittoor. It holds around 30% of India's two-wheeler market and reported revenue of about Rs 41,967 crore for FY25.
Eicher Motors, incorporated in 1982 with Vikram Lal as promoter, is headquartered in New Delhi. It owns Royal Enfield and holds 54.4% of VE Commercial Vehicles, the truck-and-bus JV with Volvo Group. Worth knowing before you drive to Gurugram looking for a bike plant: every Royal Enfield factory (Tiruvottiyur, Oragadam, Vallam Vadagal) is near Chennai.
Tyres follow the same HQ-here, plants-elsewhere pattern. Apollo Tyres, incorporated in 1972, runs from Apollo House in Sector 32, Gurugram, but its seven plants are in Chittoor, Sriperumbudur, Kalamassery, Thrissur, Baroda, Enschede (Netherlands) and Gyongyoshalasz (Hungary). JK Tyre is New Delhi-headquartered, makes passenger, two-wheeler, truck-bus, farm, OTR and retread tyres across 11 plants including JK Tornel in Mexico, and traces back to the JK Organisation founded in 1918 by Lala Juggilal and Lala Kamlapat Singhania. (Older articles say 1874; that date is wrong.)
Around the Maruti and Hero plants in Gurugram, Manesar, Dharuhera and Faridabad sits the component ecosystem: pressings, castings, plastics, wiring harnesses, bearings and seats, mostly made by Tier-1 and Tier-2 suppliers rather than the carmakers themselves. If you supply raw material or machined parts, this is the layer you sell to. Our guide to bearing manufacturers in India covers one slice of that supply chain.
Which electrical and electronics manufacturers operate in Delhi NCR?
Havells is the largest electricals company headquartered in NCR, run from QRG Towers in Sector 126, Noida, with NCR plants at Noida and Faridabad as of 2026. Its range covers switchgear, cables and wires, lighting including LED, fans, modular switches, water heaters, small appliances, motors and capacitors, plus the Lloyd brand for air conditioners and consumer durables, and Crabtree, Standard and REO. Other plants are at Haridwar, Baddi, Alwar, Neemrana and Bengaluru. Cables and wires are copper-hungry, which is why copper manufacturers in India sell heavily into this cluster.
BHEL's Delhi presence is the corporate office only, as noted above; its 16 manufacturing units are elsewhere in the country. BEL's Ghaziabad unit is the one defence-electronics factory in NCR.
Noida and Greater Noida are India's mobile-phone assembly belt, and the verified anchor is Samsung's Sector 81, Noida plant, its largest phone factory anywhere in the world, with capacity expanded to 120 million units a year. A large share of India's phone factories are in the Noida area. Several other brands and contract manufacturers assemble phones, LEDs and components here; we have not named them because we could not re-verify each one's current plant status this year.
Which FMCG, food and pharma companies manufacture in Delhi NCR?
Dabur is the big one: founded in 1884 in Kolkata by Dr S.K. Burman, run today from its Ghaziabad corporate office, and the most significant consumer-goods manufacturer headquartered in NCR. The company describes itself as 140-plus years old. As of its FY2024-25 reporting it had 13 manufacturing plants in India and overseas plants across eight countries (UAE, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Nigeria, Egypt, Turkey), so roughly 20 plants across nine countries. Its first South India plant is coming up at SIPCOT Tindivanam, Tamil Nadu, with Rs 135 crore committed in phase one.
Dabur's FY25 numbers, from its own MD&A: consolidated revenue Rs 12,563 crore; India FMCG mix of 48% home and personal care, 30.2% healthcare and 22% food and beverages; rural reach of 1.32 lakh villages after adding 16,000 in the year. It reports through three divisions: Consumer Care (healthcare plus home and personal care), Food & Beverages, and International Business. The older "Consumer Health" division no longer exists as a separate unit.
On pharma specifically, an honest note. No large listed pharmaceutical manufacturer is headquartered in Delhi NCR in our verified 2026 roster; the healthcare manufacturing at scale here is Dabur's Ayurvedic and OTC range, which is 30.2% of its India FMCG business. Delhi's MSME estates do host smaller formulation and packaging units, but we could not verify a current count and have not invented one.
Packaged food is similar: plenty of small and mid-size bakery, snack and beverage units inside Delhi's industrial areas, no national-scale food company headquartered in the capital. For the national picture, see biscuit manufacturers in India.
What are the main industrial areas in Delhi, and what is made there?
Bawana is Delhi's largest planned industrial area: about 1,922 acres developed by DSIIDC with 16,000-plus plots. One correction to the number you will see repeated online. "16,000 factories in Bawana" counts plots, not working units. Reporting from Down To Earth in 2018, citing the Bawana Chamber of Industries, put operational units at roughly half of the relocated ones (about 7,000 of 14,000). We do not have a verified 2026 operational count, so treat Bawana as "16,000-plus plots, far fewer running units".
The other notified industrial areas inside Delhi:
| Industrial area | Part of Delhi |
|---|---|
| Bawana | North-west, beside Narela |
| Narela | North |
| Badli | North-west |
| Wazirpur | North-west |
| Mangolpuri | North-west |
| Mayapuri | West |
| Kirti Nagar | West |
| Naraina | West |
| Okhla | South |
| Patparganj | East |
These are MSME estates, not big-brand factory zones. The work is job-work and small-batch: metal fabrication, plastic moulding, garments, printing and packaging, electrical assemblies, auto components for the Haryana plants. The exact mix shifts street by street, and the local industrial association is the only reliable guide to who makes what this year.
Two cautions before you lease a plot. First, Delhi's Department of Industries FAQ lists only four administrative zones and we could not find an official 2026 count of notified industrial areas, so ignore any article that gives you a confident total. Second, Bawana itself was built as a relocation scheme for units moved out of residential Delhi, and infrastructure complaints (roads, power, effluent treatment) have dogged it since. Visit before you sign.
How can a small business or supplier work with these companies?
Udyam registration is the first step for any small supplier, because PSU and large-company vendor portals ask for it and MSME-specific tenders on GeM require it. Udyam is free and online; get it done before approaching anyone.
Then pick your route by customer type.
For BHEL, Indian Oil and BEL, the door is the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) for standard goods and services, and each PSU's own vendor-registration portal for engineered items. Registration asks for your Udyam number, GST, PAN, bank details and, for technical supplies, test certificates and past supply proof. Approval can take months; start early and verify the current document list on the PSU's site rather than trusting a blog.
For Maruti, Hero and Havells, you will almost never sell to the brand directly. You sell to their Tier-1 suppliers in Manesar, Gurugram, Dharuhera and Faridabad, who in turn have their own vendor-development teams. At this layer a documented quality system and on-time delivery record count for more than a low quote.
For Dabur and the FMCG side, packaging, printing and contract manufacturing are the usual entry points, again via the procurement team rather than a public portal.
The part that hurts small suppliers is not winning the order; it is the long wait between delivery and payment. B2B receivables pile up fast across a dozen buyers. To track customer credit, a free khata app like OkCredit keeps every entry backed up and sends automatic payment reminders.
FAQs
Which are the top 10 manufacturing companies in Delhi NCR?
As of 2026: Maruti Suzuki, Hero MotoCorp, Eicher Motors, Apollo Tyres, JK Tyre, Havells, Dabur, BHEL and Indian Oil are headquartered in Delhi NCR. Samsung's Noida phone plant, the largest in its global network, is the tenth anchor on the factory side.
Which is the biggest industrial area in Delhi?
Bawana, in north-west Delhi, developed by DSIIDC on about 1,922 acres with 16,000-plus plots. It is the largest planned industrial area in Delhi, though far fewer than 16,000 units actually operate there.
How many industrial areas are there in Delhi?
There is no official 2026 count we could verify; Delhi's Department of Industries groups them into four zones. The major notified areas are Bawana, Narela, Badli, Wazirpur, Mangolpuri, Mayapuri, Kirti Nagar, Naraina, Okhla and Patparganj. Check DSIIDC's current list before relying on any total.
What products are manufactured in Delhi NCR?
Cars (Maruti Suzuki in Gurugram, Manesar, Kharkhoda), two-wheelers (Hero MotoCorp in Dharuhera and Gurugram), electricals and appliances (Havells in Noida and Faridabad), mobile phones (Samsung in Noida), FMCG and Ayurvedic products (Dabur, Ghaziabad), defence electronics (BEL, Ghaziabad), and petroleum products at Indian Oil's Panipat complex. Inside Delhi city, MSME estates make auto components, fabricated metal, plastics, garments, printing and packaging.
Are Gurugram, Noida and Ghaziabad counted as Delhi?
Not administratively: Gurugram is in Haryana and Noida and Ghaziabad are in Uttar Pradesh. For manufacturing they are always counted as Delhi NCR, because that is where the factories are. Delhi city limits contain almost no large-company plants.
